The Worship of God
Worship is at the heart of our life together. Each week we gather to do something Christians have done for more than 2,000 years: we praise God, listen to Scripture, pray, and encourage one another. We believe the Holy Spirit meets us when we worship—shaping us with God’s Word and sending us back into our everyday lives to love our neighbors and live faithfully.
Because our church includes people of many ages and backgrounds, our worship doesn’t fit neatly into one “style.” You’ll hear hymns supported by organ and piano, along with a wide variety of music from different eras, led by our choir and other musicians. Our services are thoughtful and Christ-centered, with space for reverence, joy, and real-life hope.
We also follow the seasons of the Christian year—like Advent, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost—with meaningful visuals and simple traditions that help us remember the story of Jesus. We honor these practices, but we’re not rigid about them; we adapt in ways that fit our community and help people connect with God.
What to expect: Come as you are. You’ll be welcomed, you won’t be singled out, and you’ll find a congregation that worships with warmth and purpose—whether this is your first Sunday in church or your hundredth.
Sunday mornings usually go a little bit like this:
+ 9:30 AM: Free, hot breakfast in the Fellowship Hall
+ 10:00 AM: Sunday school for all ages
+ 10:45 AM: Sunday Worship Service in the Sanctuary
“We worship a triune God who chose to rescue the world [God] created by means of the way of humility…Worship of such a God immerses us in such a way of life, empowered by a Spirit who does not equip us with means of power or control, accomplishment or success, but with the ability and humility to waste time in love of the neighbor.”
